In 1969, Arnold Vanden Boomen established the business known as Appleton Vault Works. All three of his songs, Michael, David & Richard were involved in the family business. As the sons grew up, it was time to expand. In 1976, Arnold purchased McCrossen Vault in Wausau, WI. Rick Vanden Boomen moved to Wausau to run that location, while Mike and Dave took over the Appleton location. In 1998, Mike, Dave, and Rick purchased both locations from their dad. The two locations were known as Appleton Vault Works and Vanden Boomen Vault Works.

The three brothers owned and operated the company for almost 31 years until Mike’s son, Chad Vanden Boomen, purchased the company in 2019. Both locations were then renamed Vanden Boomen Burial Vaults, Inc. Alongside his wife, children, and loyal employees, Chad operates the company with the high standards and practices that were instilled in the company from two generations before him.
